SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Across the nation, state legislatures and regulatory agencies are increasingly mandating the use of pressure-regulated irrigation products to maximize water-use efficiency.

To meet these stringent new requirements for water conservation, irrigation product manufacturer Hunter Industries offers a full suite of pressure-regulated Pro-Spray spray bodies.

Several states have introduced pressure regulation requirements for irrigation spray bodies offered for sale that comply with the water efficiency and performance criteria of the EPA WaterSense Specification for Spray Sprinkler Bodies:

To help comply with these mandates, Pro-Spray PRS30 and PRS40 spray bodies from Hunter Industries have built-in pressure regulation technology that saves up to 30% more water compared to systems without pressure regulation. Brown and gray caps make the products quick and easy to identify for compliance.

Pressure-regulated Pro-Spray PRS30 and PRS40 spray sprinklers provide a range of benefits, including the same body across all models for easy retrofits, a co-molded wiper seal for leak-free operation even with a loose cap and the optional FloGuard feature for additional water savings in the event of a missing nozzle.

“We are all responsible for using water efficiently while supporting the development of green infrastructure. We’re proud to provide the most advanced and comprehensive water-saving solution in the landscape irrigation industry,” said Kelsey Jacquard, senior product manager.

The complete offering of Hunter Pro-Spray PRS spray sprinklers is available on the EPA WaterSense website and hunterindustries.com.

TORONTO – Jobber, a provider of job tracking and customer management software, recently released its Home Service Economic Report: Spring 2020 Edition, which showcases market trends and insights pertaining to home service businesses in the first half of 2020.

Findings within the report are broken down by the cleaning, green and contracting segments, all of which saw double digit year-over-year growth in new work scheduled during the month of June, an early indicator of the health of these businesses.

To see all our reporting on the coronavirus pandemic, click here.

“Although we have not yet seen the full impact that the COVID-19 pandemic will have on small businesses, the home service category has already shown great resilience over this past quarter,” said Sam Pillar, CEO and co-founder at Jobber. “Barring any unforeseen setbacks, the category is on a strong path to recovery and, in many industries, has reached and even exceeded pre-pandemic growth levels. Our hope is that the entrepreneurs within Home Service are feeling some relief and continue to see improvements in their business throughout the third quarter and beyond.”

Jobber’s Home Service Economic Report is compiled using proprietary performance data aggregated from the 90,000+ home service professionals the platform serves. Category performance is also compared to the U.S. GDP and other major categories for context. A few key findings from the quarterly report include:

  • Recovering from April’s low – April was the hardest hit month according to nearly all indicators across all categories. Timed with a peak in U.S. unemployment and widespread stay-at-home orders, median revenue for home service businesses decreased by 15% year-over-year. However, this rebounded quickly. Median revenue for the month of June was up 8% year-over-year.
  • New work reaches new high – In June, new work scheduled for home service businesses reached a high for the year with an increase of 15% year-over-year. The green and contracting segments reached 26% and 14%, respectively.
  • No revenue loss for green industry – Year-over-year revenue has shown growth for all months in the green segment, except in April where it was flat. This segment consists of lawn care, landscaping and other related services that operate in outdoor environments and are naturally conducive to social distancing.

“Home service has weathered the storm much better than many major categories in terms of revenue growth, consumer spending, and employment” said Abheek Dhawan, the vice president of business operations at Jobber. “Many of the services our customers provide are essential to their community’s health and safety, which has become even more important as we all spend more time at home.”

CARMEL, Ind. – SePRO’s Bill Culpepper will transition to chairman of SePRO’s Board of Directors allowing him to focus on the strategic growth of the company and advocacy for the industry he has been part of for the past 54 years.

Bill Culpepper

“It has been very rewarding to start SePRO, and I am proud of our team’s accomplishments over the past 26 years,” Culpepper said. “SePRO is well positioned for growth, and this transition occurs at a good time as we are developing opportunities that we believe will accelerate the growth of our business. We have a leadership team in place that can manage the business through this anticipated advancement.”

Effective Aug.1, Tyler Koschnick, Ph.D. will become SePRO’s president. Dr. Koschnick has spent almost 19 years with SePRO. After beginning his career at SePRO as a research intern and then advancing into its sales organization, he acquired his Ph.D. from The University of Florida, Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants and returned to SePRO.  Since his return, Koschnick has been in several leadership roles, most recently as vice president, sales and research. He has also been active in the industry serving on various Boards of Directors and is a past president of the Aquatic Plant Management Society as well as the Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Foundation.

“SePRO was built around environmental stewardship, industry leadership and innovation, and has a long history of partnering with clients to solve their most pressing challenges. We look forward to building upon our solid foundation established by Bill Culpepper with continued dedication to innovation, providing quality products and the highest level of technical support,” said Koschnick. “I am honored to lead the organization and excited about our future. I look forward to working with Bill, the Board of Directors and the management team in this new capacity.”

Additionally, Michael Puckett will assume executive leadership of the company’s supply chain and manufacturing operations and has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer.  After consulting for the company for several years as a key financial adviser, Puckett joined SePRO in 2003 and was appointed as the company’s CFO soon thereafter. Puckett will be responsible for the continued operational excellence of the company while driving business intelligence throughout the organization. Sam Barrick will continue to lead the marketing efforts as vice president of marketing. He has worked in the agrichemical industry for over 31 years, 17 of which have been with SePRO, and is responsible for developing and sustaining SePRO’s market presence across all segments.

The company recently hired Adam Hemmings to serve as vice president, human resources.

These announcements follow SePRO taking on Excellere Partners as its strategic growth partner in 2019.  Along with the investments in the company’s organizational structure, SePRO, with the support of Excellere, will continue to pursue organic growth while seeking complementary partnership opportunities, including acquisitions.

“SePRO’s established market position within aquatics and emerging product leadership in other segments positions the company to capitalize on the need for innovative products across its three segments. This is only possible because of Bill Culpepper’s extraordinary vision to include building an executive team to continue the fulfillment of what he started over 25 years ago. Excellere is elated to continue partnering with Bill as Chairman as we all support Tyler, Mike, Sam and Adam through the next phase of the Company’s growth,” said Patrick O’Keefe, partner at Excellere Partners.

Briggs & Stratton, a large producer in outdoor power equipment, now has until Sunday to raise additional money and avoid having to seek protection in bankruptcy court.

The company, based in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, previously had until Wednesday to make a $6.7 million interest payment. Missing the payment would have violated the terms of its loan agreements, giving a consortium of banks the right to demand immediate repayment.

On Tuesday, the banks, led by JPMorgan Chase, agreed to give Briggs until Sunday to raise additional money, according to documents filed late Wednesday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Briggs is continuing to negotiate with the banks to find a way to raise the money needed to help the company get through the economic downturn brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
