A backyard putting green in the garden? Golf is a popular sport and more and more people are asking for our own putting green for golf in the garden. Due to the intensive maintenance, natural grass is not an option. Artificial grass, on the other hand, is extremely suitable for golfing. You can practice undisturbed golf every day in the garden.

Backyard putting green artificial is suitable as a chipping surface for the short game and as a putting green. A specially developed shock pad that is placed under the turf ensures that the golf ball that lands on the putting green from a distance reacts as if it were on a natural surface. All types of artificial turf are installed in private gardens, but also on professional golf courses and midget golf courses.

Maintenance such as mowing, spraying or fertilizing is no longer necessary. Wave grass varieties with a long lifespan, where sun, wind, rain, snow or ice have virtually no influence on the quality. For real golf lovers, a private putting green of backyard putting green is an ideal way to work on the handicap. Artificial turf is applicable in every garden, requires hardly any maintenance and has excellent wave characteristics.

ROCHESTER, Mass. – Creative Sensor Technology’s flow sensor, the Enhanced Low Flow, is now being shipped to irrigation, landscaping and agricultural distributors on a national and international basis.

Targeting the demands for water conservation and re-use in the irrigation, landscape and agricultural markets, the new Enhanced Low Flow meter uses CST’s impeller technology in a unique, patented design.

The ELF flow sensor will measure expansive flow rates ranging from a low of 0.2 gpm up to 20 gpm.  Now, one flow sensor can measure the demand of small drip zones as well as multi-zoned residential and commercial landscape sites.

“Finally, the day has come when contractors and DIYer’s can easily install an affordable water flow sensor that will accurately measure flow to conserve water, save money and protect property,” said Norm Bartlett, president of Creative Sensor Technology. “And we’re so certain about the ELF’s technology and reliability that we’ve backed it up with a lifetime electronics warranty.”

The ELF can be installed quickly in smaller and hard-to-reach confined areas. Pipe size or direction can change immediately after the sensor, so now even a solenoid valve may be attached directly to the downstream threads of the ELF creating both a flow sensor and master valve combination. And because it’s less than 12 inches in length, it fits into a standard valve box.

The light weight impeller features a wear resistant and self-cleaning bearing. All the electronics are encapsulated in a watertight epoxy suitable for underground installation even in extremely wet environments. The output signal is a simple two wire digital frequency.

The ELF will be available in two unique models, a ¾ inch PVC version with socket connections and a 1-inch glass-filled nylon (NorylÒ) version with male NPT threaded connections. Creative Sensor Technology is backing both models with a lifetime electronics warranty.

LAYTONSVILLE, Md. – Ruppert Landscape has promoted Steve Faber to the position of regional manager in the company’s landscape management division. Additionally, Kurt Myers and Michael Vispi have been promoted to the position of branch manager.

As region manager, Faber will oversee operations in the Lilburn and Mableton, Georgia branches. He has been with Ruppert for more than 17 years and has a combined 25 years of industry experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and is a board member for the Georgia Green Industry Association. Over the course of his Ruppert career, he has held several positions including field manager, area manager, and most recently, branch manager in Lilburn. For the past year, he has also taken on the role of acting branch manager in Mableton while training the next generation of leadership. In 2011, he earned the company’s Clyde Vadner Merit Award, presented to the individual who has demonstrated consistent hard work and dedication leading to exceptional contributions to the organization. He currently resides in Athens with his wife, Cheri, and their children, Dorie, Ethan, and Claire.

“Steve has played a pivotal role in helping us establish a strong reputation in the Atlanta market. Without the benefit of acquisition, Steve and his team built the Lilburn branch from the ground up. The levels of success they achieved has enabled us to split the branch, which resulted in the opening of our Mableton branch in 2015 and the establishment of a satellite operation in Athens,” said Fred Key, region vice president. “We know he will continue to build strong teams and long-lasting customer relationships in his new role.”

Myers has been selected to oversee the Mableton, Georgia landscape management branch. He holds an associate degree in horticultural science from Gwinnett Technical College and has been with Ruppert for more than 12 years. He joined Ruppert in 2007 as an enhancement field manager in the Lilburn, Georgia branch, and was soon promoted to enhancement manager then area manager and transferred to the Mableton branch. In 2018, he was chosen to join the associate branch manager leadership training program. He was twice awarded with the company’s Branch Impact Award, which is presented to the employee whose outstanding dedication and contribution have made a positive impact on the organization. He currently resides in Monroe, Georgia with his wife, Rachael, and their two children, Christopher and Madison.

“Kurt’s confident can-do attitude has helped us build a strong, motivated team in the Mableton branch,” said Faber. “He is a pleasure to work with and I have every confidence in his ability to lead and grow the Mableton branch.”

Vispi has been selected to oversee the Lilburn, Georgia landscape management branch, replacing Steve Faber as he takes on his new role. He holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape contracting from Mississippi State University and has been with Ruppert for over 15 years. Michael first started in 1996 as an intern, then officially joined Ruppert as a field manager in the Lilburn branch the following year. He was since promoted to area manager and was accepted into the associate branch manager leadership training program in 2018. He was twice awarded with the company’s Branch Impact Award. He currently resides in Buford, Georgia with his wife, Sheree, and their children, Ashley, Austin, and Alyssa.

“Those who have met Michael can’t help but appreciate his bubbly personality and great heart, but most importantly his sincere passion for our industry, our customers and our employees,” said Faber. “These, above all others, are the traits that will serve him well in his new position.”

As branch managers, Vispi and Myers will be responsible for the overall welfare of their branch, including the safety and development of the team, strategic planning and budgeting, training, and day-to-day operations.

Google has rolled out a host of updates to its search product. The updates are designed to make visual information more useful as pictures and video become more central to the Internet experience.

The new features showing up in searches include introductory videos about public figures, topic videos to help users plan trips or learn about new subjects, and an overhaul of its ranking system for displaying image-based searches, offering users more context and easier ways to shop online.

Businesses can leverage these changes to their benefit by integrating photos, videos, online reviews and more into Google’s “My Business” page.

Posting through Google My Business lets you publish your events, products, and services directly to Google Search and Maps. By creating posts, you can place your timely text, video, or photo content in front of customers when they find your business listing on Google.

Your business profile appears right when people are searching for your business or businesses like yours on Google Search and Maps. Creating a Google My Business (www.google.com/ business) page is free, and you can update your Business Profile with it so you can stand out and bring customers in.

Once you set it up, you can learn how customers are interacting with your Business Profile. How did people find you? Where are they coming from? It’s similar to Google Analytics, but tailored to your specific business. It’s also designed to be much less overwhelming. While many data scientists are devoted to analytics’ ability to handle any deep dive, the sheer amount of variables involved is enough to frustrate those without a statistics degree.

Google My Business also gives you the tools to build a website for your company, for free, in less than 10 minutes. The free website builder makes it easy to create and edit your site from your computer and phone. Google handles the optimization, ensuring your new site will look great on any screen, from desktops to tablets and phones. By doing it Google’s way, you might be losing a bit of your own autonomy, but the tradeoff might be worth it. All of the sites set up through Google My Business are designed to drive customer actions, using Google’s other services, like Maps to help people find you, and AdWords, Google’s online advertising platform that aims to turn searches into sales.

Matt is managing editor of sister publication Nursery Management.
